Biography

Dr Marko Miler is a senior research associate at the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” – National Institute of Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade. His research interest focuses on the in vivo effects of citrus polyphenols, redox biology, and the biology of aging, with an emphasis on senescence phenomena. His research aims to understand if/how polyphenols from citrus fruit administration improve senescent phenotype, cell redox environment, and persulfidation profile in various organs in old male rats. He has published 37 papers in international peer-reviewed journals in the research area, which were cited 479 times excluding self-citations (h-index =10, Scopus). Marko Miler participated as an investigator in the Serbian Science and Diaspora Collaboration program (2020-2023) and in one national research projects (2012-2019). At a practical level, dr Miler has a more integrative approach to biological hypotheses in his research, incorporating methodologies such as histological evaluation,
stereology, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, ultrastructural analysis, microscopy, qPCR, immunoblotting and biochemical assays. All of these make him a competent member of the proposed project.
