Dr Ksenija Veličković is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. She is generally interested in cells and tissues involved in the maintenance of energetic and metabolic homeostasis, particularly adipose tissue depots, liver, and pancreas. Fundamentally, her interests are mitochondria, in terms of their function in the processes of proliferation, differentiation, and CD. Her strong background in both in vitro and in vivo models, as well as in the application of various molecular and microscopic methods, including transmission electron microscopy, gives her strong competencies to be involved in the project. She has experience in clinical trials. She was Marie Curie COFUND postdoctoral research fellow (University of Nottingham, UK) and was awarded a digital image processing/analysis workshop at the Hellenic Pasteur Institute, Athens, Greece.
